Thank you for joining us here on Kingdom Come broadcast with me, Andrew Nkoyoyo. We welcome you. Today we are going to continue with part 12, and we are talking about the work of the Holy Spirit.
What You’ll Learn: The Spirit of God
And in this episode, we are going to cover five different things:

As we go through these teachings, we are praying for you to build a deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit. To unlock the “miracle worker” who is the Holy Spirit within you.

Our Theme Scripture is Acts 19:12,
“While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there’s a Holy Spirit.”
And in this series, we have been laboring to reveal and vindicate your need, our need as Christians of the Holy Spirit. And that need can only be met when we get to know who the Holy Spirit is. How to connect with Him, how to work with Him, what He does do, and how does He do it? This is why we are now talking about the names of the Holy Spirit. And then we want to reveal and expose or unlock His work in this area.
What does a demonstration of the Spirit and power mean for you and me as believers?
This is what Paul said in
1 Corinthians 2:4, “My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in the demonstration of the Spirit and of power.”
This is my mission, my passion to see the church awaken, to see you infused and saturated with the Spirit and power.
Now, I want you to realize that Paul said that his preaching, his ministry was in the demonstration, in the proof, this is what it means for you and me.
Webster says that demonstration means “the act or circumstance or proving or being proved conclusively as by reasoning or show of evidence or an outward expression or display.”
Here’s my definition. “the demonstration of the Spirit and power means the act, the expression of display of the work of the Spirit revealed in His names, in His titles, in His power, in His nature, in His character, in His person.
Whether it’s inward or outward. It’s the display of His work.
THE SPIRIT OF GOD
The Spirit of God, that’s the name we are talking about in this episode.
The Spirit of God is the name and title of the Holy Spirit, His general name that is associated with power, prophecy, and guidance.
I want you to put that in your Spirit.
Then the Spirit of God is the one who imparts and demonstrates the power and manifests the creative acts, and works of God.
I want you to put that in your Spirit. Let’s vindicate it with the word of God.
Genesis 1:2 “Now, the Earth was formless and empty, and darkness was over the surface of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.”
For God to release light, to remove the chaos, to intervene in the chaos, in the darkness upon the face of the deep – the Spirit of God had to move. It was the Spirit of God like the Bible told us it was the Spirit of God moving. And then God said, “Let there be light!” By the way, the word “let “in the scripture is a command.
If we are going to command miracles, signs, and wonders to happen, we must know it is by the Spirit of God. Then we can say, “Let there be healing. Let there be a breakthrough. Let there be light. Let there be healing. Let there be salvation. Let there be revival. “Whatever it is that you desire, and you believe God for. It is not by might, it’s not by power, but it is by the Spirit of God.
Now, we have talked about why He is called the Spirit of God. Part of it is because He’s the Spirit that comes from God. But also He is the Spirit that reveals God and imparts everything that has to do with God. Now, remember, for those of you, if this is your first time, I encourage you to go back to the beginning. Consider starting with Holy Spirit, A Breath of Fresh Air because we have been building on these episodes, to refresh your memory.
If you are new here, or you haven’t heard this and let me emphasize this. Whenever we talk about God, like the Spirit of God, we are talking about the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. When we say the Spirit of God, we are talking about the triune God. We are talking about Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
In creation, we see that God, when He said, “Let there be light!” It was by the work of the Spirit of God to bring about the will of God. Put that in your Spirit. The Spirit of God brings about the will of God. That’s why there are many names in the scripture because those names are connected to God and what He does. I want you to really think about that and put that in your spirit because it’s going to set the stage for what God wants to do.
Matthew 12:28, “But if it is by the Spirit of God, that I (this is Jesus speaking) drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.”
Our broadcast is called Kingdom Come, and our podcast is called Kingdom Come. Do you know why? Because we believe that for the kingdom to come, Jesus said, “if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, the kingdom of God has come.”
Do you see how simple that is? How do we bring the kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven? It is by the Spirit of God. Hallelujah. Jesus said, “Pray that the kingdom of God will come, and the will of God will be done on earth as it is in heaven. “How? By the Spirit of God.
The Spirit of God brings about the divine working, the inner workings, and the external workings of God.
Father, Son, Holy Spirit.
The Spirit of God demonstrates displays, proves, and releases the evidence of prophetic power and revelation.
This is what he does.
1 Samuel 10:10, “when he and his servants arrived at Gibeah, a procession of prophets met him, the Spirit of God came powerfully upon him and he joined in their prophesying.”
This is talking about King Saul. While he was not a prophet, when he came under the Spirit of God, the Spirit of God released, and empowered him with prophetic power for revelation, for prophecy, for prophetic ministry at that very moment.
And at that time and that moment, he was able to flow into the prophetic. Though his office was that of a king, not of a prophet. I want you to know that the Spirit of God when we are desiring to walk into the prophetic, we can look to the Spirit of God.
Again this is not that you are shifting your prayer from the Father and prayer from Jesus to the Spirit, but this is what I call communion prayer. Because the communion of the Holy Spirit is with you. And I have talked about what that means in a separate episode. I don’t want to repeat that.
Go back to the previous episodes, and as you go through, you are going to find what I talk about, the Trinity, the communion of the Holy Spirit, and all that. And I have talked about in another message, your greatest need. You can watch or listen and learn what that looks like for you and how you plug into this power source.
The communion of the Holy Spirit is with all of us, and the Spirit of God will clothe us with the power to be able to move prophetically. He’ll enable us to move in the gifts of the Spirit, the revelation of gifts of the Spirit. But we need to learn how to connect with him.
2 Chronicles 24:20 “Then the Spirit of God came to Zakariah, the son of Jehoiada, the priest, and he stood before the people and said, this is what God says. Why do you disobey the Lord’s commands? You will not prosper because you have forsaken the Lord. He has forsaken you.”
Again, here we see Zechariah, the priest receiving prophetic words from the Spirit of God. See, the Spirit of God is the author and the releaser, if you please, of the prophetic revelation, the prophetic words, the prophetic understanding, the prophetic dreams, whatever, anything that is prophetic, that’s connected to the revealing of God’s heart. It is the work of the Spirit of God.
Put that in your Spirit. He began to call people to repentance by the Spirit of God. The Spirit of God came upon him. The word “upon” in the scripture is the word, “anoint”. He anoints us for prophetic revelation. He anoints us. It is not about the spiritual gifts you have.
They are wonderful but it takes the Spirit of God because he’s the releaser. He’s the one that’s going to release the prophetic into your life. He’s the one. If you know Him, you’re going to prophesy. If you know him, you’re going to have prophetic revelation, prophetic understanding. He’s the one in this realm of revelation, of direction, and the revealing of the heart of God. It is the Spirit of God.
Ezekiel 11:24, “The Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the exiles in Babylonia, in a vision given by the Spirit of God.”
How was he lifted? He was in a vision that was given by the Spirit of God. I know some people freak out when they hear about visions. They think, “Oh, that is spooky. Or that is weird.” That is hyper-spiritual or over-the-top spiritual but there’s nothing hyper-spiritual about it. When you connect with the Holy Spirit and you get to know the Holy Spirit, you can move and operate in the prophetic.
You are a regular person, a regular lover, and a worshiper of Jesus. You are a regular follower of Christ. You can walk in these dimensions because you know the Spirit of God. You don’t have to have an office of a prophet.
I’m not putting down the office of a prophet or any of all those gifts, but I’m telling you, it’s not what we have meant it to be. Do you know what the big deal we need to make of this? That the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God and to know Him. We must make a big deal of that.
As you do, you are going to know His heart. He’s going to bring you into His revelation, into His understanding, into all these things, into the gifts. I didn’t know much about all the gifts. I started out seeking and getting to know the Holy Spirit. To learn how to work with the Holy Spirit, and how to allow him to flow and operate in my life.
And then I began to see all kinds of supernatural things happening from healing, from miracles, from prophecy. I will go and I’ll minister in a service and I’ll prophesy to everybody and people would say that I have read their mail. People even called me a prophet, but I never called myself a prophet. Then other places where He needs me to function in a different way, then I’ll go and I’ll function way because it’s the Spirit of God displaying His ministry.
Or they say, “Oh, wow, you are an evangelist.” I’m not an evangelist by calling, but I’ve done over the years all my life, the work of an evangelist. Dear friend, we have made a big deal of trying to get a monopoly on a spiritual gift. Yet we are limiting ourselves when what we need to do is focus on getting to know the Holy Spirit.
The Bible says that the manifestation is of the Spirit. We are looking for this manifestation, trying to go to this person who operates in a certain gift to lay hands on you. Let me tell you what I’m giving you is what you need. It doesn’t matter what gift you need or desire.
This is the secret. How do you connect with the Holy Spirit as the Spirit of God who releases prophetic power and revelation? Again, it is simple in communion prayer, you can kneel and raise your hands. You get in a place that is comfortable. This is not striving or struggling. This is fellowship, this is communion. This is a partnership.
THIS IS COMMUNION, fellowship, koinonia, partnership, the comradeship of the Holy Spirit. The friendship of the Holy Spirit is with you. If that is true, then you have this partner alongside you. He is willing, ready, and waiting on you to reach out for his partnership to say, “Spirit of God, I need prophetic understanding. I need prophetic power. I need to know the heart of God, the will of God in this area, in this matter. Spirit of God, Open my eyes”
Oh, mighty God. You see the anointing of God, dear friend, begins to pour like a river. I’m not struggling. I’m not striving. I know that the Spirit of God is within me. He is with me and upon me. I know that, and I’ve told you. Now because you know that, you connect with your partner, like a business partner in a business meeting.
Here you are, Spirit of God. I need understanding, I need revelation. Oh my God, the power of God is flowing, like rain all over me. This is how you do it, dear friend. And then you wait, and you listen, And He’s going to begin to release revelation. Be specific, mean what you say, and say what you mean, and be specific. You’re going to find out that the Spirit of God is releasing prophetic power and prophetic revelation like Saul, the king.
When he came under that prophetic power of the Spirit of God, he began to prophesy like all the other prophets. His ministry, his calling, and, his mantel were not that of the prophet. When the Spirit of God comes on you and you allow yourself, He’s going to give you all kinds of revelation. Let’s continue.
The Spirit of God demonstrates or proves divine guidance, direction, and leadership.
Romans 8:14 “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God.”
Sons, when we read in the scripture and He says “sons”, this is not a gender thing. It’s a maturity thing. When He says they are the sons of God, this means they are the mature sons and daughters of God.
That if you are beginning to be led by the Spirit of God is a sign you are growing. You are getting to that place where you are a mature son and daughter of God. The Spirit of God is going to give you divine guidance, and divine leadership. He’s going to lead you, and He’s going to guide you, but you must hunger and desire to connect with Him that way.
According to His name and all the resources of his power and his work that is connected to that name, the Spirit of God. And you say,
“Spirit of God, I need direction. I need to know what the next steps are to take in this area of my life, in my ministry. Spirit of God, I yield and I surrender to you now. Lead me into the will of God for my life. Lead me into the will of God for my ministry. Lead me.
Take me by the hand and lead me. Show me what it means to be led by the Spirit. Show me what it means to be whatever it is that God is putting on your heart. What it means to be an intercessor or what it means to be a warrior for Christ, or what it means to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ.”
When you begin to do that, you’re going to find out that the portals of heaven are open to you. The Holy Spirit is beginning to release the portals of heaven. He is already inside you. See, we have this misunderstanding of thinking, that the Holy Spirit is out there in heaven.
Because of the words and terms that you have heard over the years. The words, “I will pour out my Spirit.” That has nothing to do with pouring out something from heaven. Hermeneutically, the word “pour” means discover, demonstrate.
When He says, “I will pour out my Spirit.”, it means He will demonstrate his Spirit. He will uncover His Spirit. He’ll reveal his Spirit upon all flesh. That’s what it means. If you were one of those entangled in this theological confusion of terms and terminologies, and you are waiting for the Spirit to come from heaven, the Spirit is not coming from heaven.
He’s in heaven, but He’s already here. He’s in you, with you, and upon you dear friend. It is up to you to begin to connect with the Spirit of God. Remember, He’s the Spirit connected to the creative work of God to release revelation, prophetic revelation, and prophetic understanding.
He’s the one that is going to guide you. So that is part of what he does that I want to highlight. As you seek to release His acts and works, begin to reach out to him to commune with Him. This is not warfare prayer. This is communion, fellowship. This is talking to the Holy Spirit and listening to what He says and waiting for Him.
His fellowship, His partnership is with you. He’s going to be working and going alongside you and showing you every step of the way, what to do and how to do it. And it’s all by faith, and it’s all by waiting. It’s all by love. It’s all by surrender.
You must surrender what you think you are supposed to do and let the Spirit of God lead you and guide you. When you come to that place. When you can absolutely surrender. Allow him, and look to Him. You are going to find that you are tapping into a higher dimension of God’s omnipotence than you’ve ever thought possible. Hallelujah!
Invitation For Salvation
Dear friend, I want to invite you to surrender your heart to Jesus. You are watching, you are listening to this message, and you don’t have a relationship. It’s very simple. It begins by surrendering your heart to the Lord Jesus Christ, to be your Lord and your Savior. Then you can begin to enjoy the blessings of having a relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Could you pray this prayer with me today? Say,
Salvation Prayer
“Jesus, I believe you are the son of God. I believe you died in my name and in my place that I may be reunited with God. I confess that I have sinned against you and against God, and I confess that I need you in my life. I turn over my life to you, be my Lord, and be my Savior from this day, I am yours. Write my name in the book of life. Fill me with the Holy Spirit that I may do your will until you come. Amen.
Dear friend, you have said that prayer, Jesus Christ has come into your heart. You are what the Bible calls Born again or a Christian. Find a Spirit-filled church. Get plugged in and write to us. I would love to hear your story. I would love to point you to resources to help you in your walk with Jesus and with the Holy Spirit, so you can be the best that He wants you to be.
