Hello, dear friend. Welcome back to week two in our series, “THE HOLY SPIRIT.” Today’s message is the “Meaning of Pentecost.” Let’s refer to our key scripture,

(Acts 10:1-2) While Apollos was at Corinth. Paul took the road through the interior. He took a shortcut and arrived at Ephesus there. He found some disciples and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed? They said, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit. “

Now, many people don’t know the Holy Spirit, or they don’t know what the Holy Spirit will do for them. People perish for lack of knowledge and people miss out on God and all that God has because they do not know His Word.  Many people know God, the Father, they know Jesus Christ, but not many people know the Holy Spirit. Our desire is for you to know the Holy Spirit.  If you haven’t watched Holy Spirit Breath of Fresh Air pt.1, go back and watch it, then come back to this. In part one, we laid the foundation of the nature of the Spirit.

Let’s look at the Jewish holidays fulfilled.

(Matthew 5:17) Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them.

Jesus did not come to abolish the law or try and stop the law. He came to fulfill it. Let’s look through these three different holidays and see what did Jesus did and what He is still doing?

First, the Passover, the Passover represents salvation.

Do you remember in the book of Exodus when the children of Israel were in Egypt? God sent plagues to Egypt. The last plague, the tenth plague, was that every first -born male child had to die. The way God saved the Israelites in Goshen, was that they had to go slay a blameless lamb and take the blood, (which is symbolic of the blood of Jesus) and sprinkle it or smear it on the front door post of their homes.

When the angel of death was going through, and he saw the blood, he passed them over. That’s the idea, that’s what happened. We see Jesus fulfilling this holiday when it comes. He’s not abolishing it, but he’s fulfilling it. Now we see in, in the Old Testament, what was a type or a shadow. Now we see the fulfillment of it in the New Testament.

1 Corinthians chapter 5:7, “for Christ is our Passover lamb.”

Now we don’t have to take the animals and slaughter them anymore because Christ is our Passover lamb that has been sacrificed. The law and the prophets is being fulfilled in the work of Jesus. When Jesus comes, he’s fulfilling it.  We see that Jesus is our Passover lamb. He is our Savior. His blood does not cover our sin, but washes our sin,

(Ephesians 2:8-9) “for it is by grace, you have been saved through faith. And if this is not from yourselves, it is a gift of God, not by works so that no one can boast.”

You have been saved. Do you remember, the blood of the blameless lamb that was put on the doorpost that saved the Israelites? When the angel of death saw the blood, he passed them over.  Today the blood of Jesus that was shed at Calvary, saved us. Now He became our Passover lamb, He died in our name and in our place.

His precious blood now, not only covers our sin, but washes our sins away, brings us the freedom, the, the protection, the deliverance from the enemy. We are covered in the blood of Jesus.

We are hidden in the blood of Jesus and that is why we talk a lot about this power in the blood, precious friend.  There is so much power in the blood of Jesus. As a matter of fact, in my book, Catch and Release, God’s Supernatural. I call it the greatest key to the kingdom. Of all the keys of the kingdom, the blood of Jesus is the greatest.

The first time I heard the audible voice of God. I looked and I was completely alone. Nobody was in the room. I was in a secluded place by myself, fasting and praying. I heard the voice of God, calling me by my name and asking me

“Andrew, Andrew, Andrew, do you know what the devil fears the most?” (I did not know until later that it was the voice of God.)  I thought, “What does the devil fear the most?  Is it the name of Jesus?”  And He said, “Yes, he fears the name of Jesus, but do you know what he fears the most? And I said, “The Word? The Holy Spirit” The Lord said, “Yes, He fears those, too, but do you know what He fears the most? He fears the blood because everything else works based on the blood.”

As a matter of fact, the Holy Spirit works based on the blood.

(1 John 5:7-8) ” There are three witnesses in heaven: the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. On earth, it is the Spirit, the water and the blood, all those three agree as one.”

if you’re going to see the work of the word and of the Holy Spirit, you better have the blood of Jesus. That’s how crucial, that’s how powerful and Jesus has shed his blood. He became our Passover lamb and shed his blood in our name and in our place so that we can have access.

Dear friend, I don’t know how many demons I have cast out of people through the blood of Jesus. Or how many battles with witches and warlocks I have won because of the power of the blood! How many lives have been changed? How many shrines that I have burned down and they have repented and confessed Christ because of the blood of Jesus. In a few minutes before, they wanted to kill me. They’ were giving me ultimatumsSuddenly, I apply the blood of Jesus and, all the snakes, voodoo and all their stuff fall dead to the ground by the power of Almighty God. Phew! I feel the anointing right now.

Dear friend, remember Jesus is our Passover lamb and with the power of the blood of Jesus He has purchased us. You and I are saved, not because we try to be good people or good Christians. No, it’s all based on the blood of Jesus that was shared at Calvary’s cross. When we accept what Jesus did, then we can receive the blessings of God: the gifts, the work, the power, and the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

The second holiday that was fulfilled is Pentecost. In Pentecost, we are given power to make a difference.

We can complicate things about Pentecost. It was just a holiday. Pentecost is fifty days after the resurrection of Christ. They were celebrating but, on that day, they were gathered in one room in one place, fifty days after resurrection.  They were celebrating Moses being given the ten commandments. Now Jesus comes on the day of Pentecost to write the law of God on their hearts. Laws that they cannot fulfill on their own as much as you try but Jesus is giving us His law. He’s not giving us tablets, but He is giving us His word and writing it on our hearts.

(Acts 1:3-5) After he’s suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of 40 days and spoke about the kingdom of God. On one occasion while he was eating with them, he gave them this command, do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift of my father, my father promised, which you have heard of me speak about for John, the John baptized with water. But in a few days, you’ll be baptized with the Holy Spirit.

He had appeared to them over 40 days. I’m assuming that this is just a few days before the Holy Spirit came, before Pentecost because he had appeared to them and talked about the Kingdom of God. Now he tells them,” I want you to go,” He knew that the day is coming near for him to fulfill, this holiday, this festival. Remember that He did not come to abolish the law, but he came to fulfill the law and the prophets.  We see here He is fulfilling it. He tells them you are celebrating the giving of the ten commandments that were given on stone tablets that no man could keep. It was just words written on stone. Now I’m coming and because of my Holy Spirit, who is going to indwell you and with you, He is going to write my law, write my word on your hearts. He is not going to stop there, but He’s going to give you the power to be able to fulfill it. He’s going to give you the power to be able to live what I command you to do. Hallelujah!

(Acts 1:8) but you receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you. And you’ll be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judaism area to the ends of the earth.

He gives them the promise that they’re going to receive power. He’s going to fulfill this festival. This law is going to fulfill it and give them the power to live it out the power. Because now this law is being written upon their hearts no longer on tablets and stones, but on their very hearts and on their minds. When the day of Pentecost, again, remember, we’re talking about the meaning of Pentecost. Pentecost just said day. I know we have gone as far as, you know, creating denominations and all kinds of labels and whatever, but Pentecost is just a day. The day of Pentecost had fully come. Fifty days after resurrection.

Biblical festivals were declared by God to be His festivals (Leviticus 23:37). God’s festivals recur around the number seven. The weekly festival of Shabbat occurs at the end of the seven-day week. Passover which happens in the middle of the first month initiates the timing of the other festivals which occur later in the year. Following Passover is the festival of First Fruits which happens during the week initiated by Passover. Seven weeks from the celebration of First Fruits comes Shavuot (Christians know this festival as Pentecost). Seven months from Passover the last of the yearly festivals occurs. This is called Sukkot or the Feast of Tabernacles.

(Acts 2:1-4) When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested[a] on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance,

The day of Pentecost is a day of power. We don’t want to just dwell on the day, but we just want to dwell on what Jesus was doing. He was fulfilling this Jewish holiday, the celebrating of the ten commandments. Now it is God in us because when the Holy Spirit came, he did not only come to only be with us, but He’s also in us. He came and fulfilled that, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit.

Now the Greek word, eplēsthēsan is the same word, to be filled in Ephesians, meaning to have influence over or to take control.

The Holy Spirit had absolute influence, absolute control and possession of them He began to give them utterance. He began to move their mouths, lips and their tongues into a prayer language. I believe it was intercession because they were praying in tongues and others who were around began to hear them talk about the blessings or praying in tongues. They began to hear them just magnify God, glorify God, talk mysteries about the wonders of God on that very day. That is, the meaning of Pentecost. The meaning of Pentecost is the day when the Holy Spirit came to the early church and birthed the early church.

You can have your own Pentecost, so to speak. You can have the experience of the Holy Spirit because He comes, and as you open your heart, you receive Him. As you know Jesus came already, He has poured out the Holy Spirit. You don’t have to do anything else to receive Him. Nothing extra is needed just receive Him. First qualification is that you must repent and receive Christ into your life.

Now let’s talk about the third holiday, the Feast of Tabernacles signifies, the second coming.

This was the celebration of the, the wandering or living in temporary tent or huts. Now I love this. When God showed me the Feast of Tabernacles, of course, they were wandering, and they were sojourners, and they were wanderers. They had no home. And they were living in temporary huts. Do you know that we are wanderers and sojourners, too? This is not our home. We are here, temporarily. We are temporarily here.

Listen to what the Word of God says,

(1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God. and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so. we will be with the Lord forever.

Dear friend, we might be accumulating things we might be worried about retirement and all the things like that.  Yet in the greater scheme of things, we are wanderers. This is going to be fulfilled when Jesus comes back. But we see here, He didn’t come to abolish the law, because that was for them to remember the wanderings and living in temporary huts and tents. And today, really, as we celebrate these festivals, we are remembering that we are sojourners. This is not our home. Heaven is our home. We are here temporarily.

As we do that, then we begin to really detach from the world and live more of a heavenly-minded life than a worldly life or an earthly life. We are not going to be here forever. We know Jesus is coming back.  There is going to be a trumpet call of God and the dead in Christ are going to rise. And those of us who are alive and remain, will be caught up, depend, you know, when, if he tarries. If not, when He comes back and we are dead, we we’re going to be as a matter of fact, raised first. Then we’ll meet the Lord Jesus in the clouds, and we will be forever with him.

This prophecy, Jesus has not come to abolish it, but He is fulfilling it because now He shows us the picture of what is coming. It will be fulfilled when Christ comes back. As we think about Pentecost, do you know, what is the meaning? Because we see when the Holy Spirit came, in

(Acts 2:12) It says that they were amazed and perplexed. They asked one another, “What does this mean?

Well, this is what it means really. This is the true meaning of Pentecost.

Number one, that the Holy Spirit empowers you to live righteously.

That’s what it means.

(Romans 8:9) “You however are controlled, not by the sinful nature, but by the Spirit, if the spirit of God lives in you now.”

When the Holy Spirit comes, the meaning of true Pentecost is that the Holy Spirit empowers you and me to live righteously, to live a holy life, to prepare us, to make us red hot for heaven.  Jesus is coming back and he’s coming soon, and you and I need to be ready.

While we wait, He empowers us to do the will of God on this earth. This is really what it means.

(Isaiah 30:21) He says whether you turn to the right or the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying this is the way. Walk in it.

This was way back, many, many hundred years, when Isaiah prophesied this. We see it fulfilled by Jesus when the Holy Spirit comes.  Again, remember Jesus says, “I did not come to abolish. I came to fulfill the law and the prophets.”  We see His fulfillment of the law in the Passover and in Pentecost. He Is fulfilling the prophets in Isaiah 30:21. When we look also on the Feast of Tabernacles, we see that he’s fulfilling the prophets or what was prophesied.

He says, whether you turn to the right or the left, you’ll hear a voice. Whose voice will you hear? It is the voice of the Holy Spirit behind you saying, “This is the way. Walk in it.” The voice of the Holy Spirit, the meaning of Pentecost is the Holy Spirit is here to lead you and guide you. That’s why the Bible calls Him, your guide, your helper and your counselor. He’s your teacher. He’s going to show you the way. He’s going to keep you in the right way. He’s going to keep you in the right path until Jesus comes.

The second meaning of Pentecost is that the Holy Spirit empowers you to live supernaturally.

He empowers us.

(Acts 10:38 NLT) “And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who oppressed by the devil for God was with Him.”

In the same way. God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power. How was Jesus anointed?  Many people think they cannot walk in the power of God because they are not the original disciples, or they say that those were the chosen disciples. Or that was Jesus. The Bible shows us the blueprint of how God works, how the disciples were anointed and how Jesus, the son of God. Jesus was not anointed based on the basis that he was the son of God. He had to leave heaven and came to earth. He lived as a hundred percent God, but also, a hundred percent man in covenant with God. In other words, anything that you and I go through, he went through, he was liable to hunger, exhaustion, fatigue and frustration like we are.

Do you remember when He turned over the tables in the temple? He was frustrated and began to beat them because they were doing wrong. He went through all the emotions and all the things that we all go through, even the pains. But we see here, Luke, the author of Acts tells us how Jesus was anointed. He was anointed with the Holy Spirit. If you and I want to be anointed, we need to look to the Holy Spirit. He was anointed with the Holy Spirit and with power. That’s how He was. We see the apostles before the Holy Spirit comes on them, they’re just mere men. Men who love Jesus. And after the Holy Spirit comes on them, they are world changes. As a matter of fact, the Bible tells us in Acts 8, wherever they went, even when they went down to Samaria, people are saying that these guys have turned the world upside down, they even referred to them as “small gods” who had come to their town.

They were influential. They had impact. They had substance, they had influence. They were making a difference for the kingdom of God in people’s lives. Everywhere they went. But that was after the Holy Spirit. That’s why Jesus told them to go and wait until the Holy Spirit comes. Don’t do anything else because you don’t have what it takes. But when the Holy Spirit comes, He’s going to give you what it takes to continue in my footsteps, to continue in my assignment, in my work, in my great commission to live righteously, to live supernaturally.

(1 Corinthians 2:4-5) “My message and my preaching was not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power.”

Dear Friends, listen to this.  Paul experienced the power of God. Paul wrote eighty percent of the New Testament by revelation from the Holy Spirit.  He says that my preaching and my teachings were not in the cleverness of man’s words. It was in the demonstration of the Spirit and power. It was not in the demonstration of his intellectual powers. It was not in the demonstration of his skills as a good orator.  Sure, he was a good orator. He was an educated man.  I mean, he tells you I’m a Pharisee of the Pharisees.

He tells us that He was all that but that his preaching was not just intellectual. It was in the demonstration of the spirit and the power of God so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power. This is the meaning of Pentecost. Pentecost is about power is about God writing his heart on our hearts, writing his words on our hearts transforming, imparting to us the very mind of God. The very mind of Christ by the spirit is about empowering us to live righteously, supernaturally as part of our everyday life.

The third point is the meaning of Pentecost is that the Holy Spirit empowers you to live on mission.

He empowers me to live on God’s mission every day. He empowers you. That’s the meaning. It’s not about all the other things that we are putting around. I love denominations and all these labels, but you know what? That’s not what God is all about. I mean, we created that. God didn’t create all that. He did not. He could care less whether I label myself this or that, but what he cares is that I walk and live in the reality of Pentecost of what he has poured out for me to be able to do, what He has put me on earth to do while I wait.

While I wander and live in these temporary tents here on earth, he’s called me and has given me the Holy Spirit to empower me to live righteously, to live supernaturally and to live on mission that my sight and my focus, I zero in on the things that are above not beneath, because the things that are of this world and of this earth, they perish their temper David said, “Life is a vapor.” It is here today, and tomorrow it is gone. What we all have is that what we have done for God, with love and with faith, for the glory of God. That’s what we have.

The meaning of Pentecost was to empower the early church to live righteously, live supernaturally and to live on God’s mission until Jesus comes back and takes us all. Listen to this statement as I finish,

Being filled with Holy Spirit does not make me better than you. It makes me better than me.

Being filled with the Holy Spirit does not make you better than anybody else, but it makes you better than you. Why? Because the Holy Spirit takes you the weak, fearful feeble person and he begins to do a work on the inside of you. He begins to transform you and transform you from the inside out. He says, “Come as you are, but I’m not going to leave you there the same way I met you. I’m going to change your life for Jesus. I’m going to transform you. I’m going to empower you to overcome sin and inequity and all the things that are contrary to God’s nature, holiness, and righteousness. I’m going to empower you to live righteously.

Dear friend, you are not left to yourself. You are not left to fend for yourself to try to go through life, trying to do the law and to fulfill it. That’s why, you know, in all religion, men have failed because it was not by the cunning cleverness of man. It’s not by the human arm of strength. It is always from beginning to end., “It is by My Spirit.” says the Lord.

If you don’t know Jesus as Lord and Savior, or you are not sure that you have a solid relationship with Jesus, I invite you to pray this prayer with me.

Dear Lord, Jesus. I confess that I have sinned against God. I am a sinner, but I need a savior. And You are that savior. I confess You are the Son of God. God raised you from the dead. Forgive my sin. Wash me with your precious blood. Fill me with your Holy Spirit to do your will and live for you. Lord Jesus. I opened the door to my heart and to my whole life. Come in, fill me with your life, with the fullness of your life. From this day, going forward, I am your, I am saved. Amen.

Dear friend. You’ve said that prayer, as simple as it was, if you said it from your heart, you meant it. Jesus has saved you. He has come into your heart. And right now, from this moment on the Holy Spirit is in you and is with you. And he’s beginning a work to empower you, to transform you, to live righteously, to live supernaturally and to live on its mission.

You can connect with us on TV platforms on Roku, on Apple TV, Android TV and all the other platforms. They are all on our website. Thank you for tuning in. I’m going to jump in the Word of God,

(Acts 19:1-2) While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the interior and came to Ephesus. There he found some disciples 2and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you became believers?” “No,” they replied, “we haven’t even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”

Dear friend, the reason we are teaching this message is because there are many today, like in Paul’s day who have not heard about the Holy Spirit, and there are many who are confused or taught the wrong doctrine or the wrong theology concerning the Holy Spirit.

There are different groups. Some don’t believe in the Holy Spirit at all, while others don’t believe in His person. still others believe in the Deity but not His person and vice-versa. I pray that during this teaching series, we bring understanding knowledge and clarity to this wonderful, person, the spirit. HE IS the third person of the Trinity. And as we go through this, I’ll vindicate His duty. I’ll vindicate through the word of God His personality. I will show you how you can connect and interact and have a relationship with Him, not only with the father, not only with Jesus, but also with the Holy Spirit.

Have you ever wondered why the things we see in the book of Acts are a little bit far off from the church today or from your own life? Or wondered why there are things that you have read about other people, or in the Bible, especially the gospels and the book of acts, and seen what God was doing through other people and asked yourself why is God not moving in my life that way? God is not doing those things in my community, or in my church but not in me. The answer is closely tied to Holy Spirit. The reason we do not see God moving in our life like that is because we do not do what they did in the book of Acts.

The thing is if we did what they did, and believe what they believed, we’ll see the same results. Part of that is this outpouring of the Holy Spirit that they received on the day of Pentecost. It is crucial for you to go on this journey, give me several weeks here. Every week we will go on this journey together in continuing episodes, releasing more insight and understanding of Holy Spirit.

When Paul found these Jesus-loving believers, they had never even heard about the Holy Spirit.

We are calling today’s message. “A Breath of Fresh Air.” God wants you to experience a breath of fresh air, a breath of His wind.

“Ruach,” is the Hebrew word used in the Old Testament translated as “spirit”. It refers to a wind, breath, a violent exhalation, a blast of breath.

We see the Holy Spirit was there from the beginning even at creation. He was there.

(Genesis 1:2) says, “Now the earth was formless and empty. Darkness was over the surface of the deep and this spirit, the RUACH of God was hovering over the waters.”

And then what do we see? God spoke. We see that even in creation for creation to take place, we see that the Holy Spirit was involved

As a matter of fact, we see that Godhead involved in everything that happens on the earth that will happen in your life and throughout your life. There are the three all working in perfect harmony. This is I said earlier that we cannot see God’s supernatural apart from the Holy Spirit.

Heavenly Father has already done his part. Jesus has already played his part.  And I will show you in this series, now it is up to the Holy Spirit to manifest those things in our lives and bring them from the spiritual realm into the physical.

We see that Pneuma, the Greek word, translated first spirit in the New Testament means a current of air, blast of breath, or a strong breath. Pneuma and Ruach mean the same thing.

In John 6:63, this is what Jesus says, “The words that I have spoken to you, they are Spirit, and they are life.”

They are my breath. They are my wind.  When I speak from my very life, what I speak is life because it is being I imparted to you and communicated by the Spirit. Therefore, we need to understand the very nature of the Holy Spirit is the spirit of the Father, the spirit of God, the spirit of Jesus Christ and all the other titles, which we will cover in a separate episode as I’ll break it down for you.

Let’s talk about the characteristics of wind. Wind is unseen.

(John 14:16-17) , Jesus said, “I’ll ask the Father and He’ll give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever, the Spirit of Truth. The world cannot accept Him because it neither sees Him nor knows Him, but you know Him.”

How do we know Him? He says, “Because he says He lives with you and later He’ll be in you. He lives in you, with you and He will be in you.  We know this unseen God; the Spirit is unseen. We know Him because He’s living in us. Put this in your spirit. He lives in us and He’s with us as I will show you before the conclusion of this teaching today, the roles of the Trinity. I want you to put that in your spirit. Jesus is at the right hand of the Father. As we speak right now, He’s not on earth. The Father is sitting in his throne right now in heaven. Jesus is sitting on the right hand, but the Holy Spirit is here with me, with you, right here. The Holy Spirit, God, the spirit. It is what we call the dispensation of the Spirit.

In the Old Testament, we had the dispensation of the father in the New Testament. At the beginning of the church, when Jesus walked the earth, we had the dispensation of the son of Jesus Christ. When the disciples needed to interact, they did not need to go to a prophet. They went to Jesus. And Jesus said that it’s expedient pr to your advantage that I go, because when I go the, the Advocate, the Helper, the Teacher, this Holy Spirit is going to come. He is going to be in you and be with you. See that is crucial for you and I to get a hold of.

The second characteristic of wind is unpredictability.

Again here, Jesus says

In John 3:8, Jesus answered, “The wind blows where it pleases. You hear it sounds, but you cannot tell, where it comes from or where it’s going. So, it is with everyone born of the spirit.”

It is unpredictable. What does that mean? It means that the God in you, this Holy Spirit is unpredictable. You cannot predict what He will do and how He’s going to do it. But what you can predict is His nature. His nature is faithful. What the Bible says is that he’s there with you. He is going to be in you and He’s going to be with you.

Then you, as a believer, filled with a spirit, your daily walk, so to speak is going to be also unpredictable. You can’t think that God is going to do something, the same way he did it last time, where he did it or how he did it or when he did it? No, because God is unpredictable. We must understand this aspect of the, of the spirit that this is again, we are talking about the nature of the spirit and will go deeper in a separate episode when we talk about all the other aspects of this nature. Today we are talking specifically about wind.

This is the third aspect or characteristic of wind. The wind is powerful. It can sail a boat, a ship, but it can also destroy a city. We have seen tornadoes. We have seen hurricanes, heavy winds destroying buildings, bringing down bridges, just causing all kinds of devastations. That’s how powerful wind is.

Jesus said in Acts 1:8.” but you receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you.”

In other words, when this, the wind of God comes on you, you’re going to receive “dunamis”, the dynamite of God. Yet the wind of God, the Holy Spirit doesn’t destroy things. He revives. He gives life. As a matter of fact, when we talk about his names and his titles, one of them is, He’s called the Good Spirit.  Why? Because He imparts the goodness of God.  If we are going to see and know the goodness of God in the land of the living, we need to know the Good Spirit because the Good Spirit is the one who brings it from the invisible into our world, into the tangible. He’s powerful. The Holy Spirit is omnipotent.  He’s impregnable, He’s unstoppable. When we realize His nature and who He is, we can better work with Him and receive all that He desires to impart to us. Hallelujah, praise God.

Charles Finney, a 1900 revivalist and powerful man of God, is considered the father of modern-day revival. He was a country lawyer and a Presbyterian minister. In his testimony he said that at some point he was content with knowing God intellectually like many Christians are. Maybe you are just content knowing God on an intellectual level, but you don’t know God on an experiential level. Knowing God on an intellectual level is not bad but it can’t all just be intellect. We must add to that intellectual knowledge, experiential knowledge and encounter God.

This is what Charles Finney said, “Holy Spirit descended upon me in a manner that seemed to go through me, body and soul.” Would you not love the power of God to go through your body and soul and actually really feel it?.  Finney continues, “I could feel the impression like a wave of electricity going through me. Indeed. It seemed to come in waves and waves of liquid love. I could not express it in any other way. It seemed like the very breath of God.”

Dear friend, this is what happens. I remember when I got baptized in the Holy Spirit was just a few days after I became, you know, a follower of Jesus Christ. I was in the shower. I didn’t even know how to pray or what to pray, but all I cried out to God, “God, I want everything that you have for me. I want it all. Give it to me.” And there, it was in the shower, the power of God, you know, kind of like Charles Finney, I just felt love, a blanket of love just enveloping me and just overcoming me suddenly, everything that I’d thought about myself unworthiness.  Why was I born here? Why am I here? All that flitted away. I knew that I was loved. I knew that I was valued. I knew that somebody cared deep down. Somebody cares for me. And from that very moment, God just baptized me, uh, with a love for him and for people.

I remember wailing for salvation of men that others will come to know this same love. This power, what I feel right now. I wanted it even for my worst enemy. I just wanted it. Dear friend, that day I was activated into the ministry of prayer and intercession. It was because of the Holy Spirit. It just radically changed my life. He is going to do the same for you, if He hasn’t already started. I’m going to show you how you can really tap into all that He has for you.

The fourth characteristic of wind is refreshing. Just think of on a hot summer day, you go into a car, and you roll down the windows. Then the breeze begins to come through, the window and begins to refresh you. Cool you down., you see the holy spirit is the spirit of refreshing. As a matter of fact, one of His titles is the Spirit of Revival. We want revival, but we can’t have revival apart from the Holy Spirit, as I will really show you as we go in this teaching. The Holy Spirit is refreshing.

(1 Corinthians 2:9-10) it says “No eye has seen; no ear has heard. No mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him.”.

Understand it hasn’t been conceived by you.  There are dreams. There are visions. There are destinies. These are things that God has for you, that you haven’t conceived that I haven’t conceived, but God, now this is the key. Listen to this friend, but God has revealed it to us by the spirit. How is getting that stuff to us? He’s getting it to us by the spirit. Do you understand? No, eye seen the mysteries, all the pleasure, the glory and, and all the wonders and all the blessings, the miracles, the signs, the wonders, all that. All that God desires for you and I to be, and to become and to do. He says you haven’t seen, I haven’t seen, but He’s going to reveal to us by that spirit.

Now it is time to take a deep breath and begin to posture ourselves for God to breathe on us fresh and anew.

(Ephesians 4:30 MSG) it reads, “Don’t grieve God. Don’t break his heart. His Holy Spirit, moving and breathing in you is the most intimate part of your life. Or you could say can be the most intimate part of your life to make you fit for Himself.”

Now, did you hear that he makes you fit for Himself. It’s not by the cunning cleverness of man. It’s not by the human arm of strength. It is by the Holy Spirit, from beginning to end, the Holy Spirit making you fit for God, making you fit for heaven, making you fit for all that God wants and desires to be, and to do in you and through you. The Holy Spirit.

He goes on to say, “Don’t take such a gift for granted.”

This is why I’m passionate about bringing this message because many have taken this, you know, passion of the Holy Spirit for granted and many don’t even know Him.

In 1999, I was preaching across England and the pastor invited me to go to his church. They scheduled the meetings Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. When the day came, and they drove me to the church, and I began to preach. In the midst of the preaching, , a lady that could not walk that stood up and she yelled, “Oh, I am healed”. And she began to walk. I mean, she was ecstatic. She was sitting in this wheelchair and suddenly she stands up and she can walk and she’s ecstatic. She’s excited. And I continue preaching. And then somebody else in the back say, “Oh, I’m healed.” Miracles started happening. Now. I didn’t know that the church I was in was what they call the Jesus only church. They don’t believe in really the father or Holy Spirit.

They only believe in Jesus. Then the Bishop stood up to stop what was happening. And he said, “We don’t believe in this thing. Stop it.” I told him, that I don’t know how to stop it. This is, you know, the power of the Holy Spirit. Well, we believe in the power of God, but we don’t believe in the power of the Holy Spirit. Listen, friend. This is the biggest deception. There is the power of the Holy Spirit is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the communicator. He is the transmitter of that power. That’s why He’s the power of God. If we want to see the power of God, we need to connect with the power of God, who is the Holy Spirit.

Dear friend, this dear brother, this Bishop, he’s trying to stop the holy spirit. He didn’t know what to do. I told him, “well, you go right ahead. “

Although he tried to stop the move of God, but the Holy Spirit was touching people and healing people. Of course, they didn’t invite me for the rest of the days. And when the service was done, we began to talk. He was experiencing, something he had never seen before.  Though, deep down their church, they believed for the move of the power of God, yet they did not realize that the one person they are rejecting, ignoring and pushing away is the one person that they needed to see the hand of God.

Dear friend, that is the devil’s real deception to keep people from the truth. Because the truth, you know, is what sets you free. And that’s why I’m very passionate about preaching this truth, because there are many, I know there are many groups that some deny His duty, and some deny His personality.  Some deny him completely, right? They think he’s just a force that comes from God. Dear friend, it is important for you and I to get a hold of this truth. Because when we know the truth, it is the truth that sits us free. I remember sharing with that Bishop and I said, “Hey, go back in the Bible and search it for yourself. Don’t believe what somebody told you or don’t believe just what the denomination says. Go search it, search it in the Word of God. If you see the Holy Spirit in the Bible, if you see the Holy Spirit all the way from Genesis to maps. You will see. And you see the Holy Spirit birthing the New Testament church. I don’t know how you can really say,” The Holy Spirit is not God, and He is not for today. “

I think it is very important that we need to really understand what we believe. What do you believe? What do you believe about God? when I say God, I mean, God, the Father, God, the Son and the Holy Spirit, I’m going to show you their role here in a second. How do we begin to take this deep breath, begin to connect with the Holy Spirit?

Number one, we need to let go of our fears and of our misconceptions.

We need to let go. We need to give them to Jesus. Maybe I’ve seen something on television. Maybe you had a bad experience in those circles where people, believe in the power of God. It doesn’t mean to throw out this gift of God, just because of one bad experience.

(Proverbs 3:5 MSG), “Trust God, you need to trust God.” Amen. Say it with me, “Trust God from the bottom of your heart. Don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Trust God.”

I want you to push delete on your past experiences on what you’ve been taught. I don’t know what you’ve been taught, but whatever you believe push delete and get back into the Word of God. In this series. I submit these teachings to you and the Holy Spirit to go and even question what I’m teaching question, what I’m showing you, because if it’s in the Bible, don’t take my word for it. I am going to take you into the word and trust God to show you the truth.

Because the truth that you know is not the truth of your denomination or it is not the truth of your church. It’s not the truth of what the pastor said., I’m a minister myself, but I’m telling you question the word of God. Open the Bible and begin to read it for yourself and see, does this make sense?

Number two, go all in.

(Jeremiah 29:13) it says that you’ll seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Remember I told you in 1986, when I just got saved, I didn’t even know how to pray. You don’t need to be an expert in prayer. You just need to have an open heart, just go all in. I told God; “I just want everything you have. I don’t care what it feels like, what it looks like. I just want it. I must have it.” It is completely different, once we take away all these conditions and all these reservations, God comes in, he’s waiting.

The Bible says He’s knocking at the door, waiting for us to open the door for him to come in. He will come in any day, anytime, anywhere, any place he will come in, but you must open the door. You must invite Him in. When you seek Him with all your heart, the Bible calls it, surrender. When you surrender, you put yourself at, his disposal, he’s going to come and make you a disciple. He’s going to come and teach you and take you deeper into the Word of God, from what he wants, where you are into what he wants you to be and wants you to have and wants you to do Hallelujah!

This third point, which is extremely important, is you must develop an intimate friendship with the Holy Spirit.

We see most of the epistles that Paul wrote, they end with a benediction. Well, this is one of them. I’m sure some of you have been in services when the minister at the end, says the benediction.  It may go something like this, “May the Lord bless you. May the Lord be with you. May the Lord cause his face to shine upon you and give you peace. You see that’s the benediction. This is a benediction.

(2 Corinthians 13:14 MSG), “The amazing grace of the Lord, Jesus Christ. The amazing grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the extravagant love of God, the intimate friendship of the Holy Spirit, be with all of you.

This is the Trinity and, remember I told you, I’m going to tell you about the role or the operations of the, of the Trinity. is.   I remember sharing this verse with my pastor friend of the Jesus only church. And I said, “Well, here we have, the Trinity mentioned, in the same verse in this benediction prayer, because it’s not only God, the father, it’s not only Jesus. And it’s not only the Holy Spirit. It is the, is the triune God.

The Role of The Trinity Explained

God, the father loves you.  The extravagant love of God. The father loves you. That his role. He’s the architect.  He’s the architect of all things. And His heart is to love. He loves you. And you may say, dear brother, Andrew, I really can’t receive the love of God because I had a, a bad athlete father. Well, the devil did that to hinder you from really knowing the love of God. It has nothing to do with God. Now, let me give you an example here. Can you see? Men put value on things based on what others are willing to pay for that thing.

Now I love you. I pray for you. I fast and pray for our viewers, our listeners, those who read my books, those who come to my services, those who partner with us and support us. I pray and I fast. And I love you, but I’ll tell you, I’ll not give any of my sons to die for you in your name and in your place so that you and I can have a friendship. I, I don’t love you that much, but God loved you so much that he will give Jesus Christ to die in your name and your place so that you and He can get to know each other. You see, that is the love. The extravagant is the love that doesn’t hold back. What is precious?

That’s the love of God for humanity. That’s the love of God for you. And I, it doesn’t matter where you are born. It doesn’t matter. You know what circumstances you are in right now; the love of God is for you. He loves you that much, that He will give Jesus Christ to die on the cross for your sins, for your misdeeds past present and in future so that you can be reunited with God. That’s the extravagant love of God.

Now, Jesus, Jesus saves you. He saves you and I, that’s why the Bible says the amazing grace of the Lord, Jesus Christ. That’s why he seated the throne in heaven that he seated on is called the throne of grace and mercy, because that’s who he is. That’s what he came to do to distribute and to open the door for grace, for humanity, to come into God, to come to know God, he saves us. It doesn’t matter where you’ve been. It doesn’t matter where you are. It doesn’t matter where you’ve done. He saves you right now. You will receive him, confess him as Lord and accept him and say, “Jesus, come into my life”. It doesn’t matter where you are. When I got saved, I got saved in my bedroom, got back from school. And I had this conviction on me about my sin.  I cried out. I realized I was a sinner, and I needed a savior right then in my bedroom. Nobody laid hands on me. Nobody prayed for me. Nobody preached to me. Well, my mother preached to me. She had planted the seed over the years, but I had rejected it. But until that day I knew Jesus. The grace of Jesus touched me. I knelt and invited him into my life. And guess what? 30 plus years later, I’m still going. I’m basking in that. grace. He saves you. Do you see?

And then God, the Holy Spirit is with you. Do you see, dear friend? I told you earlier that God the father is in heaven. Jesus Christ is seated at the right hand of God right now. But guess who is here right now in this studio right there, where you are watching from. God, the Holy Spirit! He’s in you and He’s with you. If you’re not a believer, you receive Jesus as your Lord and savior accept what he did.  Then The Holy Spirit is going to come and indwell your life from that moment going forward. And he’s going to empower you as I will show you in the next teaching. He’s going to empower you to live righteously, to make a difference to live supernaturally.

Pray and Invite Jesus Into Your Life Now

It is amazing. It is the most wonderful gift that any man could receive. It is the gift of eternal life, the gift of unconditional love. It is the gift of grace and is the gift of the Holy Spirit. Dear friend, you are not left to your own doings. Jesus has given you the Holy Spirit to help you, to be with you until He comes. If you don’t have a relationship with Jesus, or you have kind of wandered away, this is the time to rededicate your life to the Lord. Jesus Christ Confess Him as Lord say, “Jesus, I invite you into my life. Be Lord of my life and be my savior. Pray this simple prayer with me by faith. Mean it from the bottom of your heart, say what you mean and mean what you say, and Jesus is going to save you right there. Like he did in my bedroom.

Lord Jesus. I confess that I have sinned against God, and I need your saving grace. I accept what you did on the cross. When you died, you are buried, and you are resurrected for me in my name and in my place. I receive you as my Lord and savior. Fill me with your holy spirit and empower me to do your will now. And for all eternity, I confess that God raised you from the dead. And I confess that I am saved today. Thank you, Jesus, for saving my life. Amen,

This blog post is taken from the book entitled “CATCH AND RELEASE GOD’S SUPERNATURAL: The Keys to Operating in GOD’S MIRACLES, HEALING and POWER” by Dr. Andrew M. Nkoyoyo”.

Do you realize that the blood of Jesus is the most powerful of all keys in releasing God’s supernatural?  It is what the devil fears the most.  “And they overcame him by the blood of the lamb, and by the word of their testimony… (Revelation 12:11)  Using His Blood, applying His Blood, and proclaiming His Blood releases God’s miracle working power into people’s lives to heal, to deliver, to restore, and to cleanse.  The blood of Jesus contains God’s unlimited power to unlock the miracles, signs and wonders we all want to see that transforms our lives and the lives of people around us.  Jesus’s blood is our most powerful, abundant, never-ending resource to come against the workings of the enemy.

The life of Jesus is forever in His blood.  When we partake of His blood in Holy Communion, we are remembering and celebrating what Jesus has done for us and is doing for us by the sacrifice of His shed blood. We access the throne room of God and heaven’s kingdom realities on Earth through the shed blood of Jesus.  “And so dear brothers, now we may walk right into the very Holy of Holies, where God is, because of the blood of Jesus.  This is the fresh, new, life-giving way that Christ has opened up for us by tearing the curtain—his human body—to let us into the holy presence of God.”  (Hebrews 10:19-20 TLB).  Everyone’s salvation rests on the power of the shed blood of Jesus. Through His shed blood our sins are forgiven.  “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.”  (Ephesians 1:7).    Jesus shed his blood once and for all, however our benefits and blessings are continual and forever through an everlasting covenant.  “And now may the God of peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, equip you with all you need for doing His will.  May He who became the great Shephard of the sheep by the everlasting agreement between God and you, signed with His blood, produce in you through the power of Christ all that is pleasing to Him.”  (Hebrews 13:20-21 TLB).  The power of His blood continues forever: it is miracle working power for today and for our future!

Apply the blood of Jesus to those infirmities that need healing, to the brokenness in people’s lives that needs restoration, to bondage in people’s lives by the enemy that needs severed, released, and cast out, and to areas of people’s lives that need cleansed of unholiness and unrighteousness. Through all this you will see the miracle working power of His blood!  Plead the blood of Jesus over areas in your own life that need healing, deliverance, and restoration; access your redemption through His shed blood!   Sing with praise and thanksgiving what Jesus has done and is continually doing for you through the sacrifice of His blood!  Proclaim with boldness the power of His blood in all that you seek to overcome! Throughout your daily walk, remember to continually access and use the power of this key, the blood of Jesus!  Remember, all the power keys in your hands work and are useful because of the blood of Jesus!
